A prayer of Proverbs 1:7 . . .
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction (discipline).
Lord Jesus, thank you that you are the foundation of all knowledge. You are the creator of all. You know the exact number of hairs on my head and the days of my life. You knew of the extent of my life before I was even conceived. Thank you for such knowledge.
I was not there at the foundation of the world. You were. I was not the one whom poured the vary waters of the seas. You were. I did not hang the planets in orbit or the stars as ornaments of your glory. You did. Thank, Lord Jesus, for such knowledge is beyond my comprehension, yet not yours. You truly are the foundation of all knowledge.
As true knowledge is from you and you alone, so is true wisdom. Wisdom is forged and refined by time. Wisdom is where knowledge, integrity, and persistence meet.
Wisdom is begun by knowledge of you and your ways. It is lived out in integrity on a day by day basis. It is based on the truth of your Scriptures. Wisdom is made strong through the persistence of living in true knowledge and integrity over time. Lord Jesus, please grant me persistence in sticking to what I know is right no matter what life presents to me. Whether in abundance or poverty, may I cling to you, the fountainhead of all knowledge.
Lord Jesus, grant me the grace needed to be a man of discipline. When my flesh desires to satiate it’s wants apart from you, please grant me the will and strength to hold fast to you, your ways, and your Word. When my mind moves towards pride, lust, and greed, I need your intervention and will to move me towards Godly discipline. Though I often rebel, discipline is good and from you and in my ultimate best interest.
Godly discipline protects me from my temporary wants and passions that will lead me away from wisdom and towards self destruction. Godly discipline moves me in the direction of my core desires, which are to be one with you, in unity with your will, and live a life of purpose, contentment, faith, hope, and love.
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that you are the beginning and the end of all knowledge. This day, my I be a man of Godly discipline, sacrificing temporary yet unhealthy desires, in the pursuit of wisdom and purpose. They are derived only by walking in joy and submission to you.
Lord Jesus, thank you that you and you alone are Creator and worthy of my life. In you and you alone do I find ultimate purpose and contentment. May I walk, this day, in the freedom and joy of this knowledge of you and your ways.

Wow. Thank you for this, for sharing the wisdom God has obviously granted you in understanding his living word. A beautiful and much needed reminder for my soul. Saving this so I can pray through it regularly.
